Everyone is welcome. Come on down and be part of the neighborhood. For the mature audience, no drugs
Big Time Pete, Kenny Miller, and Ray the Handyman are the mainstays of the jam. Big Time Pete organizes the jam, doing all the behind the scenes work of arranging for a location and drawing on his extensive blues connections to draw musicains to the jam. Kenny Miller is the Carpet House Band leader. He leads the jammers into organized songs and often sings lead and plays lead guitar. Ray the Handyman favorite instrument is bass, but he can play lead/rhythm guitar simultaneously with the bass, and if he has to can turn on the drum machine integrated into his bass.
All three men were good friends, maybe best friends of John Estes, and they have kept the Carpet House jam going on in his honor and in his spirit. At John;s Carpet House everyone was welcome. The sign on the wall says that if dont like the blues go home
Those were the only rules that John needed, and are the only rules the current jam needs.
